Greece was hit by  very strong earthquake today .The epicenter had been located 75 kilometers under the sea north of Hania, Crete. 

No serious injuries or widespread damages were reported . that was because the epicenter was located65 km under the surface  in the sea . That saved Greece from  a new catastrophy

The magnitude was measured 6.9 andthe tremor was felt all around the country
Mr Papazaxos and Mr Tselentis both professors of seismology declared that allthough they don'texpect another earthquakefrom the same area ,there is always a possibility for triggering another earthquake somewhere else in greece .

The energy that was transmitted was 20 timesmorethe energy of Chirosima bomb and equal to the solar energy that consumes the whole country in 4 days .
"This is normal and good, because it allows this phenomenon to get rid of the pressure it has built up. This is an area which regularly gives out strong quakes, so we are not surprised." said Mr Giorgos Stavrakakis the head of Athens Geodynamic Institute.
